This project is a partnership between three universities: Cranfield University in the UK; The University of Twente in the Netherlands; and Hunan University in Changsha, China.

The objectives of the project cohere well with ongoing activities already established at each partner site:

Cranfield University now offers a new MSc in Enterprise System Implementation. The MI-EIS project will hopefully assist in widening the European and international dimension of the programme and in attracting students who aim to work in an international context. The new modules being developed on the MI-EIS project will be useful additions to the current programme.

The University of Twente already runs an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) as well as Business Information Systems (BIT), and an International MBA (IMBA) in collaboration with Hunan University. The new modules being developed on the MI-EIS project will initially be used in these current programmes at Twente, and a new specialisation track in the subject under the umbrella of the MSC BIT would be sought. As project results become available, the process to create a new MSc in MI-EIS will be explored.

Hunan University runs an MSc in Enterprise Management in addition to the IMBA programme. The new modules will be used in both programmes in the first instance and new electives will be offered. The process to create a new MSc course in China is longer than in the UK and Holland, but will begin through the creation of partnerships with other leading Chinese institutions during the lifetime of the MI-EIS project. From the results of the project, Hunan University also aims to develop continuous professional development programmes for local industry.

In the creation of new course offerings at all three partner universities, mutual recognition of qualifications will be sought in order to facilitate the possibility of offering joint programmes.
